A circuit response, not a real fly's arousal probability.
The model turns your image into a small grayscale patch moving across a white field in both directions. Visual inputs drive a selected MaleCNS circuit. We subtract its no-image baseline and measure courtship-related pathway activity. A still photo has no motion of its own; these motions are imposed by the model.
mCU = 1,000 × the rectified mean evoked courtship-group response. Rates are normalized from 0 to 1. The theoretical scale is 0–1,000 mCU; it is not calibrated to biological excitement or a population percentile. Small values are valid.
This uses a subset of a male fruit fly connectome, not its entire brain. Visual mappings, neurotransmitter signs, response timing and readouts include modeling assumptions. Arousal-related pC1 cells are a proxy, not confirmed P1a identity. Smell, touch, internal state and real behavior are not modeled. The score does not measure a person's attractiveness.
